HOW-TO VIDEOS"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>Poodles come to us in all conditions, from being impeccably groomed and in perfect condition to being totally dirty and matted with skin, eye, ear, fur and medical conditions, many times requiring them to be shaved down.\u00a0 Our wonderful veterinarians help us with the medical needs and we help the dogs with the nutritional, training,\u00a0psychological and grooming needs.<\/p>\n<p>Our poodles are each on their own grooming schedule and are groomed every 6 &#8211; 8 weeks depending on each individual dogs need.\u00a0\u00a0They may be impeccably groomed one minute and the next minute go outside for a romp in the yard and get completely dirty, always seeming to find\u00a0that patch of dirt in the yard.<\/p>\n<p>Since our inception in 2009, we have practiced our policy of allowing\u00a0our dogs in our foster homes and all our dogs to be allowed the freedoms of running outside whether on a leash or in a large fenced area.\u00a0 We do not put them in pens outside.\u00a0 They are allowed to be dogs, have fun, run free\u00a0and play.<\/p>\n<p><strong>WE WANT YOU TO FEEL COMFORTABLE IN THE CLIP YOU DECIDE TO KEEP YOUR POODLE IN.<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>Poodles do not need to be maintained\u00a0in a show clip.\u00a0 Some people prefer the long, shaggy look on a poodle, both on the face and the body,\u00a0some people prefer a clean face and clean toes, and some people experiment with\u00a0different looks creating a combined look or new style altogether.\u00a0 People who are familiar with the breed understand that a poodle may look a little shaggy between the 6-8 week grooming schedule.<\/p>\n<p>We have a chart of over 25 different poodle clips that we have fun with when clipping our dogs.\u00a0 Sometimes we even make up new styles.\u00a0\u00a0 For a donation to help support our dogs, we can come to you to show you how to bathe and groom your own dog.\u00a0 This will save you considerable money and will be more economical as a poodle owner.\u00a0 Grooming your own poodle, even\u00a0brushing and bathing your own\u00a0poodle, will create\u00a0that much more of a\u00a0stronger bond between you and your poodle.<\/p>\n<p><span style=\"text-decoration: underline;\"><strong>ORDER OF GROOMING <\/strong><\/span><\/p>\n<p>Note that steps 1, 2, and 3 are interchangeable but all must be performed before bathing the dog (if they haven&#8217;t already been recently performed)<\/p>\n<p>1.)\u00a0 Ears &#8211; Pluck inside the ears and clip the underside of the ears before cleaning the ears.<\/p>\n<p>2.)\u00a0 Nails &#8211; Clip the nails and file and buff with an ordinary nail file or dremel tool.<\/p>\n<p>3.)\u00a0 Brushing &#8211;
